The weekend home came disguised as a blessing for the inhabitant family as they moved base in the stronghold of nature, secluded in the light of the Pandemic’s outbreak. Donning the cape as their primary residence, this home flung itself open to endless exploration of its infinite potential. The wellness enthusiastic sons and father were able to etch new cycling circuits outdoors, the lady of the home found quaint reading nooks, musical rendezvous reverberated against the gurgle of the fountain indoors, mealtimes became alfresco and family gatherings sprouted around bonfires in the lush backyard.

Tactile materiality plays-off the five senses, creating a human-centric design narrative. For its end-users, the home is their refuge from the cacophony of the urban city. Minimalistic in demeanor, the home is rooted in its context wherein the earthy materiality initiates a constant dialogue with the sensorial rugged surroundings. The walls, floors, and furniture employ cane, wood, local stones, and raw finishes ingeniously whilst amalgamating with local crafts and antiquated finds.

The two-level residence hosts communal family spaces on the ground floor and private suites on the first floor. Elements of nature: water, wind, the greenery, and the sun entwine fingers within the expanse of the home. The outdoors are an extension of the living spaces and the manicured landscape devours the home majestically.

The home has allowed the family to celebrate the liberty and freedom they always had to call their ‘own’; this slice of paradise witnesses transcendence of dawn to dusk as visual poetry iterating the timelessness of this abode that will stand the test of time.
