A 906 sq. ft home replete with colour, nature-inspired elements & a stark personality. Haus of Tint & Trace by ADDA Architects in Surat is a visual delight topped off with just the comfort a family would desire.
A home is where love is endless & one finds themselves being the most content version of themselves. Good design always takes cues from its inhabitant’s way of life, likes & aspirations. With the Haus of Tint & Trace, ADDA Architects have conjured to life a space that celebrates colour while being a family’s emotional & physical cocoon.
A property developer by profession, the client was well acquainted in the sphere of what impact a home can have on the life of its users. The client’s brief was centered about the key concept of curating a space that was inviting & one that had an understated tone of luxury in its aura. “We concentrated on creating a space that was a reflection of the family’s personality, design preferences & unique lifestyle. The home had to have a strong sense of aesthetic while being the place to which the family returns at the end of each day.”, shares Parekh.
This abode has been given a modern character that ensures that the designed space functions impeccably & has a stated persona. Each nook has been envisioned & executed in a way that it gives its user’s needs paramount importance. ‘Haus of Tint & Trace’ is a fitting name for the residence as colour plays the focal role in the scheme of the home’s design identity. Colours have a profound & complex impact on the human mind & can influence the mood of a space.
Hues like blues, white, sunshine yellow, forest green & vermillion find their place in a variety of forms including furniture, art, artefacts & wall-finishes. Dashes of colour have been balanced meticulously with neutral tones to create an elegant ensemble. Nature & its influences on our psychology also become a guiding force in the curation of the space. “We can attempt to alter the physical & aesthetic form of a space by any margin but ultimately we’ll come to notice that hues & patterns found in nature are what the human psyche is more attuned to & adapts to most organically.”, adds Shah. The clients love for colour, finishes & diversity in materiality has been kept alive through the weave of the home’s design.
The common zones of the residence are connected functionally while being in a complete visual union. The bright sunshine yellow upholstered sofas in the living area bring that zing to the formal entertaining zone. The uber chic & compact dining area is an intimate setup perfect for a family to gather in while they dine. The deep forest green accent wall anchors the dining area & gives it that gravitas to balance the colour story in the living. A neoteric & sleek kitchen in a soft colour scheme ties the whole section together cohesively. The various areas complement each other while being functionally distinct & having a harmonious feel.
The master bedroom witnesses sheer magic created when hues of blue & white come together. A match made in colour heaven; the space instills in one an instant sense of tranquility & serenity. Peppered with abstract art, bric-a-brac & deep-toned wardrobes the master suite is a celebration of the calm ambience blue & white create.
A cozy nook planned in a copacetic fashion; the second bedroom features a muted palette which gives the room limitless potential in terms of colour introduction. Vermillion & white linen & dhurrie give the space a zesty persona. A multifunctional TV cum dresser unit allows the space to have amplified efficiency.
The child’s bedroom once again recreates the engaging chemistry between shades of blue & white while maximizing the usability of the floor space. A built-in wardrobe & study niche save on space while making for a quaint corner. A navy sofa cum bed allows the room to have a flexible seating plan which has been paired with a minimal powder blue graphic wallpaper. The space harnesses the potential to grow with the young child’s evolving needs.
The home’s level of exclusivity is further built upon by the fact that furniture pieces were designed & crafted locally in the city of Surat. The architects designed & customized elements like hardware in the form of hinges & handles. “We worked towards ensuring that the space had its unique character & that’s was exactly why we looked into details like custom hardware, the craftsmanship of furniture & how everything fitted into the design scheme of the home. God is in the details!”, explains Laheri.
A haven for its inhabitants which has been tailored to their needs, Haus of Tint & Trace is a visual symphony conceived with a pivotal emphasis on colour & deep respect for a family’s lifestyle. The firm has envisaged nature & its many hues as their main muse to create a montage of spaces that are a blend of style & soul.
