An abode that truly embraces the indoor-outdoor sentiment, the Sage home is a saga replete with a hue-spirited narrative; one that is bathed in modern-tropical goodness & an earthy palette of materials. A residence designed for a young family; this apartment was transformed with its every inch to create an ambience that focuses on sage green as an anchor hue & blurs the boundaries amidst the inside & the outside.
An overall muted design vocabulary has been interjected tastefully with pops of colour in versatile forms & plush elements to create nuanced vignettes across the home. The crafted home sees the coming together of 2 contrasting yet harmoniously balanced styles: hints of traditional charm & a modern persona creating an equilibrium of warmth. The cornerstone of the design identity is its airy & bright aura that registers upon first encounter with the space.
The various sections of the home although distinct in function, each bare a grounding scheme of materiality that give the spaces a homogenous congruence. The flooring for instance is a key example of the same – colored & monochrome hexagonal concrete floor tiles with tandur slabs tie the home’s blueprint together. The wood & woven cane partitions in the formal living area are a pragmatic & aesthetic solution to flexibly utilize the space effectively. The ingenious usage of the breeze blocks to create a monochromatic partition brings geometric interest & function to the public sections of the home. Oxide-finished wall surfaces lend the interior volume an elevated spirit with their subdued hues. The curios collaged in various nooks of the residence further tell the story of the various influences that shape the home’s character. Greenery finds its way indoors in the form of large accent planters & statement plants that give the space a lushness of sorts.
The Sage home bears the potential to adapt to the inhabitant’s every need while staying true to its roots. It is a sanctuary of evocative design that makes colour its pièce de résistance & impeccably sews the design ethos around the same.
